What is safeguarding children?
Safeguarding children means protecting children and young people from abuse, neglect and harm, and promoting their health, welfare and development. What are the different types of abuse?
UK safeguarding guidance recognises four main categories of abuse: physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse and neglect. What are the signs of neglect in children?

How do I report a safeguarding concern?
You should follow your organisation's safeguarding policy and report any concern to your designated safeguarding lead or manager without delay. If a child is at immediate risk, contact the police or children's social care services directly.
